Many years ago Advertising Solutions, Inc. published a guide of Website Design Myths based on a lot of the misconceptions that many business owners took as fact or what they were told from shady website designers. This guide was a staple on our website for many years but was taken offline a few years ago during an update of our site.
The guide is still relevant today as it was almost 10 years ago when it was written. We have updated it and will begin to post each myth right here under this new section. Look for a new myth every few days.
What is Search Engine Optimization?
Search Engine Optimization also known as SEO, is a method of designing a
website so that the site will be indexed and picked up by the
search engines. Proper SEO includes writing compliant HTML code, making sure your navigation can be read by the search engines, placing good textural content on your site, and coming up with good titles, keywords and descriptions to the page. Really good SEO goes a step further and makes sure that there is a good balance between text and images on your pages, adding proper tags to images and links and other non-textural content, and making sure that the page is weighted with relevant keywords to your products or services. Once you have done this the site is “Search Engine Friendly”.

SEO greatly affects your rank and placement within the search engines. Each search engine has a different set of guidelines and things that they like to look for when grading your site but there are many similarities that the major ones look for; each weighing them slightly different.

The Beginning Of Advertising Solutions, Inc.
Since 1999, Advertising Solutions, Inc. has been offering it’s clients professional website design, hosting, shopping and web based marketing and advertising services at the very affordable costs. We were founded with the vision of providing the highest quality products and services as well as supporting our clients in every aspect of their web site and advertising plans. This was our mission when we set out to start this company eight years ago and it has been the mission of our company to this day. Looking back on when we first started, we remember the horror stories that some of our first clients had told us about. Web designers overcharging, skipping town with a pocket full of cash and never even designing the site, sites that fell apart, designers that had no clue as to what makes effective advertising and worse. We knew then that we needed to be different and we needed to be there for our clients, not only because it was the right thing to do but because we were tired of seeing business after business overcharged for poor and ineffective work. Even though over 8 years have passed since then, we still unfortunately hear the same stories over and over again.
